PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a processing performed on image data read by an image reader be performed also when an image is formed on a recording medium. SOLUTION: The image processor comprises an image reading type image processing portion 300 which carries out image processing on the image data acquired from an image reading potion 20; a main memory 430 which stores the image data processed by the image reading type image processing portion and image data inputted from a printer controller 2; a printing type image processing portion 300 which carries out image processing on the image data stored in the main memory when an image is formed on the recording medium; and a main controlling portion 100 which instructs the image reading type image processing portion to carry out image processing if image processing on the image data which should be performed by the image reading type image processing portion is required when image processing is carried out on the image data stored in the main memory by the printing type image processing portion.
