The battery has a gas chamber (21) to which gas containing active material is supplied. A number of separators (1) are laminated together in the gas chamber formed with a passage-like manifold (3) through which the gas passes. End plates with gas supply holes are formed at either sides of the laminated separators. The gas supply holes meet the passage-like manifold of the separators. A main passage (31) is formed along the laminated direction of the separators. A rib (34) formed in a circulation space (33) connects a chamber inlet (32) to the main passage along the direction in which the separators are laminated.
