The method involves detecting inclined positions of a drive operation unit (5) against a vertical operating position with a sensor (6) that is arranged at the drive operation unit. A control signal is transmitted via a transmitter to receivers (11, 21) during exceedance of a limit value of the inclined position of the drive operation unit for decreasing the speed of a conveying cable (3) . Another control signal is transmitted to the receiver during exceedance of another limit value in the inclined position of the drive operation unit, for stopping the conveying cable. An independent claim is also included for a cablecar installation having a valley station and a mountain station.
