PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adjusting a tip clearance of a core sampling apparatus, wherein the core sampling apparatus is of a double cylinder type formed of an external cylinder having a bit at a distal end thereof, an internal cylinder inhibited from rotating, and a fluid channel, and facilitates adjustment of the tip clearance for determining a passing area of excavation fluid at the distal end of a core barrel of the core sampling apparatus, without disassembling the same, to thereby make the core sampling apparatus available for core sampling in the wide range from hard rocks to soft rocks, and provide the core sampling apparatus. SOLUTION: The core sampling apparatus is formed of: the external cylinder 1 having the bit 2 at the distal end thereof, and mounted on a swivel head assembly 10 operable from outside; a support shaft body 3 inserted into a sleeve member via a progressing/receding means 9; the internal cylinder 5 inserted into the external cylinder in a manner being inhibited from turing together with the external cylinder; the fluid channel 6 secured by the external and internal cylinders; a cutting point internal peripheral lower edge 2a of the bit 2; and a core intake means 7 arranged at the tip of the internal cylinder. Then the tip clearance K1 is adjusted according to an upper clearance K2 created by moving forward the support shaft body by the operation of a slide ring 14 from outside.
