PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic torque converter assembling apparatus, quickly and easily assembling a torque converter to an automatic transmission, and having versatility to cope with various types of torque converters different in specifications. SOLUTION: The automatic transmission is held in a lateral attitude state on an automatic transmission holding means, and the torque converter 101 is held in an opposite attitude state opposite to the automatic transmission on a torque converter holding means 51. A feed moving screw means 49 is rotated in the normal direction by a preset turning angle according to the specifications of the automatic transmission 100, thereby pushing the torque converter 101 to the automatic transmission with a predetermined pushing force. When an engaging part of the torque converter 101 and an engaged part of the automatic transmission cannot engage with each other, a pushing table 42 is once moved backward, and after the engaging part and the engaged part are changed in phase by the rotation of the torque converter 101, the torque converter is again pushed with the predetermined pushing force.
