<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel bearing device capable of preventing plastic deformation of a caulking part and sag of a fixing nut by reducing a contact surface pressure of the caulking part, and capable of preventing generation of stick slip sound on an abutting surface between the caulking part and a shoulder part. <P>SOLUTION: The wheel bearing device is equipped with a hub ring 2 and an inner ring 3 press-fitted into it, and the inner ring 3 is fixed by the caulking part 2d formed by plastic deformation of an end of the hub ring 2. A flat surface 19 brought into surface-contact with the shoulder part 14 is formed on the caulking part 2d by cutting, and a step part 19a slightly dented is formed on an outside diameter end thereof, and the abutting part of the caulking part 2d and the shoulder part 14 is a non-hardened part. Thereby, the surface pressure applied to the caulking part 2d can be reduced, plastic deformation or abrasion of the caulking part 2d and sag of the fixing nut 18 can be prevented, and generation of the stick slip sound on the abutting surface between the caulking part 2d and the shoulder part 14 by the sudden slip can be prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
