An image processing apparatus, a method thereof, a program recording medium, and a program thereof are provided to edit a predetermined process easily to be applied to an image when the predetermined process is applied to the image whenever the image is played back and the processed image is reproduced by storing the process to be applied to the image and a feature value of the image in association with each other. An image processing apparatus(13) comprises the following parts: a feature value extracting unit(41) for extracting a feature value from an image; a setting unit(46) for setting setup information for applying a process to the image; a recording unit(61) for recording the setup information in association with the feature value of the image; a synchronizing unit(42) for synchronizing a feature value of a data recording medium with the feature value extracted by the feature value extracting unit; a reading unit(63) for reading the setup information recorded in association with the synchronized feature value from the data recording medium when the feature value of the data recording medium is synchronized by the synchronizing unit with the feature value extracted by the feature-value extracting unit; a reflecting unit(49) for reflecting the process applied to the image based on the setup information read by the reading unit; a display image generating unit(50) for generating a display image by combining an object, indicating the setup information read by the reading unit, with the image in which the process applied to the image is reflected by the reflecting unit; and a selecting unit(47) for selectively supplying the setup information, read by the reading unit, to the reflecting unit or the display image generating unit.
