An automatic reciprocating type sludge collector which is automatically reciprocated forward and backward in a settling basin to remove sludge in the settling basin promptly and cleanly is provided. An automatic reciprocating type sludge collector comprises: a moving body(10) moved forward and backward in a settling basin(1); body supporting means(20) supporting an upper part of the moving body to install the moving body in the settling basin in a state that a lower portion of the moving body is spaced from the bottom of the settling basin in a predetermined distance; scrapers(40) positioned between the lower portion of the moving body and the bottom of the settling basin and fixed to the lower portion of the moving body such that the scrapers push sludge toward a sludge reservoir(2) when the moving body advances and moves backward together with the moving body when the moving body retreats; a body moving means(30) installed on an outer side of the settling basin and connected to the front and rear sides of the moving body to move the moving body forward and backward; a scraper operating means(50) installed at one side of the body moving means and connected to the scrapers to space the scrapers apart from the bottom of the settling basin when the moving body advances; and a control device(70) installed at one side of the body moving means outside the settling basin and electrically connected to the body moving means and the scraper operating means to control operations of the body moving means and the scraper operating means.
