PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device for a wheel having a rotating speed detecting device with improved durability and reliability by reducing its size and preventing foreign matter from entering a detecting portion. SOLUTION: The bearing device for a wheel having a rotating speed detecting device is equipped with: an encoder 19 fitted on the outside of an inner ring 6; an annular sensor holder 15 mounted to an end of an outer member 4 opposing the encoder 19; and a rotating speed sensor 20 integrally molded with the sensor holder 15 and which faces the encoder 19 via a predetermined axial clearance. The encoder 19 comprises an annular magnetic encoder. A seal 11 is disposed on the inboard side of the encoder 19 via the sensor holder 15. The seal 11 is mounted on each of the sensor holder 15 and the inner ring 6, and comprises annular first and second seal plates 21, 22 disposed opposing each other. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
