PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deterioration of productivity without causing any troubles in assembling work besides exhibiting a prescribed damper function. SOLUTION: In the rotary damper, vanes 2 stored in a housing 1 are continuously provided to a base 21 pivotally supported on the housing 1. Two oil chambers R1, R2 are defined in the housing 1 by a body part 22 capable of being oscillated in the housing 1. Prescribed damping force is produced in a damping part through which hydraulic fluid gets through when two oil chambers R1, R2 are widened and narrowed by allowing hydraulic fluid to mutually flow in and out by oscillation of the body part 22. A thrust washer 5 formed in an annular shape is arranged between an inner surface of the housing 1 and an end surface in an axial direction of the base 21 in the vane 2. The housing 1 is provided with a stopper 15 for preventing the thrust washer 5 arranged in a prescribed position in the housing 1 from moving from the prescribed position thereof.
