The method involves determining obstacles (5, 6) e.g. hill, present in an initial cone of confusion (4) using a cartographic database connected to a calculator (12) calculating an observation direction (A) of a sensor and solid angles of the cone of confusion. The angles covering the obstacles are evaluated and a reduced cone of confusion (9) is calculated using the calculator by subtracting the angles, not covering the obstacles, from the cone of confusion (4). An independent claim is also included for a device implementing a method for detecting a hostile. |
