PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hair cleanser composition that has excellent detergency and hand combing property in hair washing and provides the hair with softness and has excellent stability with time. SOLUTION: The hair cleanser composition comprises 0.01-20 wt.% based on the total of the composition of (A) a polyalkylene glycol derivative represented by formula (I): R<SP>1</SP>O-(AO)<SB>m</SB>-(CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>O)<SB>l</SB>-(AO)<SB>n</SB>-R<SP>2</SP>(AO is a 2-3C oxyalkylene group; R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>may be the same or different and are each a 6-24C fatty acid residue, a hydrocarbon group or a hydrogen atom; the ratio of a hydrogen atom in R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>is≤0.5; l is an average addition molar number of oxytetramethylene group and 1≤l≤50; m+n is an average addition molar number of an oxyalkylene group and 1≤m+n≤200 and 0.02≤l/(m+n)≤1 are satisfied).
