A slide-type portable terminal is provided to open/close a slider on a body by consecutively generating attractive and repulsive forces between electromagnets and permanent magnets, thereby maintaining the reliability for a long time due to not having force directly applied on the portable terminal. Plural electromagnets(110,120,130) are installed in sliding direction in an outer part inside a body(100). Plural permanent magnets(210,220,230) are installed toward the electromagnets(110,120,130) inside a slider(200), and wherein poles are installed in turn. One pair of torsion springs applies elastic forces to the slider(200) when being inclined to one side, and wherein the first section of the torsion springs is supported on the slider(200) while the second section thereof is supported on the body(100), respectively, and wherein the elastic forces are mutually balanced at a transition point where the slider(200) is located in the middle of the body(100).
