PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat shielding structure for a construction machine having improved workability and safety during inspection and maintenance. SOLUTION: The construction machine consists of an engine compartment 19 storing a power engine 20, an upper part cover 19f covering part of the upper face of the engine compartment 19 in a closable manner, an upper face cover 19d covering the rest of the upper face of the engine compartment 19, and a supercharger 26 installed in the engine compartment 19 at its upper side and adapted to be driven by exhaust gas from an engine 20 for supercharging the engine 20. In the engine compartment 19, the heat shielding structure is provided to cover at least the upper part of a turbine 26a of the supercharger 26, where a supporting member 36 is installed for upward supporting a passage portion of the upper face cover 19h. During inspection and maintenance work, it eliminates such a fear that part of a body such as a hand or an arm touches the supercharger 26 in error to allow inspection and maintenance work in the engine compartment 20 without minding the high-temperature supercharger 26, resulting in efficient short-time work and improved safety.
