PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a setting device for a hypoid gear machining machine, which can properly set a relative position between a workpiece and a cutter head on a machining machine when executing tooth flank machining. SOLUTION: A calculation part 6 sets a control parameter when shaping a gear 101G with the machining machine 200 on the basis of gear design data. It also sets a control parameter when creating a pinion 101P with the machining machine 200 on the basis of the relative position between a virtual gear workpiece and the cutter head and an assembly dimension between a virtual gear and the pinion after setting the virtual gear by reflecting a tooth contact adjusting dimension in the gear design data. By this way, it is possible to set such a control parameter that the tooth contact adjusting dimension is accurately reflected, so as to machine the hypoid gear with excellent tooth contact.
