A digital image processing apparatus for zooming and reproducing an image is provided to enable a user to quickly identify a necessary portion in a desired photographed image at a desired magnification. A photographing part(204) photographs an image. A storing part(208) stores the photographed image. The first zoom control part(200) sets an adjustment interval of a reproduction magnification. The second zoom control part(202) varies a magnification at the set adjustment interval of the reproduction magnification. An image processing part(206) converts the photographed image into data of a storage format and outputs the data to the storing part. The image processing part selects an image to be zoomed among stored images, zooms the selected image in accordance with a magnification set by the second zoom control part, and outputs the zoomed image. A display part(210) displays the zoomed image.
