The device protects a lorry trailer from theft when left parked separately, e.g. when the lorry is away delivering or collecting goods etc. It comprises a bolt inserted in the eye of the trailer towbar, and with a lock in its end. The lock tongue engages in a recess formed in a ring fitted over the bolt end. The lock can be of the cylinder type, its front plate being flush with the end face of the bolt, while the recess can consist of an internal annular groove formed inside the ring. The edges of the ring and bolt head bearing against the eye can be radiused.
