HEALTH FOOD COMPRISING THE EXTRACT OF ARALIA CORDATA THUNB FOR THE PREVENTION OR IMPROVEMENT OF INFLAMMATION AND ALLERGIC DISEASE

A health supplementary food containing Aralia cordata Thunb extract having effects of inhibiting the formation of leukotriene C4(LTC4) involved in allergic and inflammation reaction is provided to be useful for prevention and improvement of bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, allergic asthma or allergic dermatitis. The health supplementary food contains 0.1 to 50% by weight of Aralia cordata extract and food acceptable additives. The Aralia cordata extract is obtained by finely cutting the whole plant, root or above-ground part(leaves and stems) of Aralia cordata, adding 1 to 20 times the weight of water, C1-4 lower alcohol or a mixed solvent thereof and extracting it at 10 to 80deg.C for 1 to 24hr. The health supplementary food can contain a carrier, excipient and diluent. The Aralia cordata extract has an effective dose of 0.0001 to 100mg/kg, preferably 0.001 to 10mg/kg per day. The health supplementary drink contains 0.02 to 5g Aralia cordata extract, based on 100ml.
