PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation apparatus capable of plainly informing a driver of which traffic control causes the traffic congestion on a guidance route. SOLUTION: All traffic congestion links that form congestion information 23 are extracted (S2-S4) when there is traffic control information 24 within a range of a predetermined distance from one's own vehicle location and there is congestion information 23 that begins with controlled links having the traffic control information 24. In addition, when there are traffic congestion links among these extracted traffic congestion links along the guidance route, a CPU 41 distinctly displays the traffic control information 24 that is associated with the traffic congestion links and the congestion information 23 that begins with this traffic control information 24 on a map in a liquid crystal display 15, and provides audio guidance via a speaker 16 about the congestion along the guidance route as congestion information 23 that begins with this traffic control information 24 (S5-S7).
