PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a shutter curtain to be forcedly closed when the drive of the shutter curtain is stopped by having an overload detected despite the absence of an obstacle, in an electric shutter for a building, the control part of which is equipped with an overload detecting means for detecting the overload on the shutter curtain on the basis of the driven state of an opening/closing machine. SOLUTION: The control part 8a comprises: a forced closing means 8e for forcedly closing the shutter curtain 1, which is operated for opening for a T2 timer time on the basis of the overload detecting means 8c, for a T4 timer time longer than the T2 timer time, when a special operation is performed in such a manner that an operating switch PBD for closing is continuously operated twice; and a forced rewriting means 8f for rewriting a memory load value into a load value in the forced closing of the shutter curtain.
