A plasma display panel is provided to prevent distortion of a rear substrate in a process of manufacturing the panel by forming a reinforcing member on the rear substrate, thereby preventing vibration and noise generated by the distortion. A rear substrate(120) is spaced apart from a front substrate(110), and has a reinforcing portion(121). Barrier ribs are interposed between the front and rear substrates to define plural discharge cells. Discharge electrodes are interposed between the front and rear substrates. A phosphor layer is formed in each discharge cell which is filled with discharge gas. The reinforcing portion is made of the same material as the rear substrate.
