This invention relates to a surgical support arm (1) for holding surgical apparatus utilized during surgery. The support arm (1) comprising an elongate support (2) having mounting means (3) at one end thereof, an extension rod (4) with and end clamp (7) at one end (8) thereof, a mounting slide (5) which slidably receives the elongate support(2) and the extension rod (4), and a locking mechanism incorporated into the mounting slide (5), the locking mechanism being operable through an activation member (6), which enables the mounting slide (5) to be locked in a predetermined longitudinal position relative to the elongate support (2) and in a predetermined longitudinal position relative to the extension rod (4). |
