摘要 1313399 Measuring human bodies E MOECKL 23 April 1970 [24 April 1969] 19521/70 Headings G1M and G1W A device for measuring a human body comprises a base 1, a vertical guide 2 carrying a scale, and various feelers mounted on slides 10-14 movably mounted on the guide. The body is positioned by a depression 5 in the base, and a weighing machine may be included in the base. Slide 10 carries height measuring bar 18. Slide 11 carries a shoulder positioning plate 39 and a feeler arrangement for measuring the position and slope of the shoulders. Slide 12 carries feeler 42 measuring the position of the back, and slide 13 feeler 47 measuring the position of the spine, a telescopic connecting rod 50 between the two feelers operating a pointer 54 to indicate the rearward slope of the back. Feeler 47 may also be arranged to measure the lateral deviation of the spine. Slide 14 carries a feeler arrangement for measuring the width and slope of the pelvis. Springs may be provided to bias the various feelers into engagement or out of engagement with the body being measured. Each slide engages the triangular main guide through ball bearings and may be adjusted in position along the guide by use of a friction wheel engaging the guide, Fig. 6 (not shown). The feelers are mounted in the slides by rollers, one of the rollers forming a friction drive for adjustment of the feeler, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown). The main guide may be broken apart into two or more portions 2a, 2b or may be telescopically collapsable. The feelers may be motor driven onto engagement with a test body and connected to a store registering the measurements taken. The device may have a detachable housing with walls in the form of charts and diagrams.
