PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material having high whiteness and excellent in high speed recording performance by adding a specific ether compound into a thermal color forming layer. CONSTITUTION:This thermal recording material has a sheet like substrate and the thermal color forming layer formed on at least one surface of the sheet like substrate and containing a colorless -light-colored dye precursor and the coupler reacting with the dye precursor to form a color and the thermal color forming layer further contains at least one kind of an ether compound represented by formula I (wherein R1 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group or a halogen atom). This specific heat-meltable substance enhances the color forming sensitivity of the thermal color forming layer and prevents the lowering of whiteness. |
