<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet carrier capable of detecting breaking of an end part when a sheet is allowed to abut on an end part reference guide, by highly accurately detecting a size change in the main scanning direction and the sub-scanning direction by thermal contraction of the sheet. <P>SOLUTION: This sheet carrier has the end part reference guide 63 for guiding one side end of the carried sheet 61, an obliquely sending roller 60 for carrying the sheet while allowing the one side end of the sheet to abut on the end part reference guide, and a lateral resist adjusting means 64 arranged on the downstream side of the end part reference guide and movable in the direction orthogonal to the sheet carrying direction. The sheet carrier is characterized by having a lateral end detecting means 62 arranged in the direction orthogonal to the sheet carrying direction and detecting the sheet end opposed to the sheet end abutting on the end part reference guide, and a control means 66 controlling a lateral resist means by arithmetically operating the sheet size on the basis of a detecting result of the lateral end detecting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
