PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the sealability of the roller of a first rotating compression element in an internal high-pressure type multi-stage compression rotary compressor. SOLUTION: This rotary compressor 10 comprises the first rotating compression element 32 and a second rotating compression element 34 smaller in displacement than the first rotating compression element 32. The rotary compressor 10 compresses a refrigerant compressed by the first rotating compression element 32 by the second rotating compression element 34 and discharges it into an enclosed container 12. The inner diameter dimensions and the height dimensions of the upper cylinder 38 (first cylinder) of the first rotating compression element 32 and the lower cylinder 40 (second cylinder) of the second rotating compression element 34 are made equal to each other. The diameter dimension of a first eccentric part 42 is smaller than that of a second eccentric part. The wall thickness of the first roller is set larger than that of a second roller 47.
