A method for correcting measurement time of a bill detecting sensor is provided to improve control efficiency of an apparatus by measuring the bills at a value proximate to a reference set value through the bill detecting sensor. A method for correcting measurement time of bill detecting sensors(A1,A2,B1,B2) is composed of steps for measuring the time required for passing of bills in the bill detecting sensors installed at the starting and finishing points of a bill transfer path; comparing a measured value with a reference set value; and changing the installation angle of the bill detecting sensors or the overlap degree of a bill separating unit if an error is generated between the measured value and the reference set value.
