Ink cartridge, inkjet printer and combination thereof

An ink cartridge (10) is configured to be demountably mounted to an inkjet printer (100). The ink cartridge comprises a cartridge body (20) having an ink storage chamber and an ink introduction hole (29). The latter is configured to receive an ink supply tube (40) of the inkjet printer. A first valve element (44) of the printer is configured to open and close the communication between the ink supply tube and a further ink supply channel (42). A second valve element (31) of the ink cartridge is configured to open and close the ink introduction hole. The second valve element comprises a valve body (32) having a presses portion (36) and a projecting portion (33). The projecting portion is configured to enter an interior of the ink supply tube and to press the first valve element in order to open the communication between the ink supply channel and the ink supply tube. Similarly, a distal end of the ink supply tube is configured to press the pressed portion of the second valve element in order to open the ink introduction hole almost simultaneously upon insertion of the cartridge into the inkjet printer.
