A voltage detector is provided to prevent an electrical shock accident by generating audiovisual signals to a user, when power is supplied to an electric device and a distribution line. A voltage detector includes a voltage supply display and an alarm unit. The voltage supply display includes a condenser(32), a rectifying/filtering unit(33), a counter(34), a frequency divider(35), an LCD display(37), and an LED(Light Emitting Diode)(38). The alarm unit includes a solar panel(40), a variable voltage regulator(41), an oscillator(42), an FET(Field Effect Transistor)(FET), a battery(43), a proximity sensor(44), a transistor, an AND gate, a 3-point VCO(Voltage Controlled Oscillator)(45), a voice IC(46), and an alarm IC(50). A square-wave DC voltage is delivered from a CMOS(Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) IC(36) to a board through a plug(39) and a jack(54).
