An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to prevent light from being inputted to a pad region and a driver region of an LCD panel even when a black matrix is formed on a first substrate, thereby improving picture quality. An LCD includes a first substrate(100) and a second substrate opposite to each other, a black matrix(400) formed on the first substrate, a gate line(110) and a data line(120) which are formed on the black matrix and intersect each other to define a pixel region, and a TFT(Thin Film Transistor) formed at the intersection of the gate line and the data line. The LCD further includes a passivation layer(220) formed on the TFT, a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first and second substrates, and a sub black matrix formed on the passivation layer along the edge of the first substrate. |
