Apparatus for aerating sewage comprises an open tank 1 and a rotor 3 comprising a shaft 11 provided with circular plates 10 and arcuate vanes 4 between adjacent plates, each vane having one of its ends close to the periphery of a plate and being angularly displaced with respect to the other vanes about the axis of the rotor. The flow of sewage into the tank may be regulated by valve assembly 6-9. One or two scoops may be arranged between the last pair of plates in the direction of flow in order to collect aerated sewage and return it to the inlet of the tank, Fig. 2 (not shown).</p> |
