PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new production method for efficiently producing crosslinked resin microparticles by absorbing a monomer into seed particles and polymerizing the monomer, in the method for producing the crosslinked resin microparticles having uniform particle diameter. SOLUTION: The method for producing the crosslinked resin microparticles comprises absorbing an ethylenic unsaturated monomer into seed particles in water and polymerizing the monomer. The production method comprises a step (a) for absorbing the ethylenic unsaturated monomer into seed particles by carrying out stirring under a condition represented by either one of formula (1): 30≤2πRN/(D-R)≤5,000, formula (2): 0.8≤2πRN≤12.0 and formula (3): 1.0×10<SP>5</SP>≤2πRNt/(D-R)≤4.0×10<SP>7</SP>(wherein R: stirring blade radius; N: number of rotations per sec.; D: radius of reactor; t: time) and absorbing the ethylenic unsaturated monomer into seed particles and a step (b) for polymerizing the monomer under a condition represented by formula (4): 0.30≤2πRN/(D-R)≤13.0 or formula (5): 0.01≤2πRN≤0.30 (wherein R: stirring blade radius; N: number of rotations per sec.; D: radius of reactor).
