PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save electric power of a digital camera having an auto power-off function. SOLUTION: When non-operation state of a digital camera continues, timing is made to continue by a first timer. In contrast, when a release button or the like is operated, the first timer is reset to restart the timing. When the non-operation state continues and a state where a luminance level of a subject image is lower than a reference level continues, timing of a second timer is made to continue. Alternatively, when the above situation is not the case, the second timer is reset to restart the timing. When a measurement time by the first timer exceeds a first set time (e.g., 5 minutes), a power supply is automatically turned off.
