PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope apparatus that is available in an environment of combustible gas or fine particles. SOLUTION: A control unit 3 that composes a scope unit 2 and an insertion portion 4 are installed on a main unit 1 with a scope connector 5. An optical adaptor 8 is attached to the distal end of the insertion portion 4. At the distal end of the insertion portion 4 is mounted with a CCD imaging device 31, HICs 32 and 33, and a thermistor 34. A liquid crystal module 36 is attached to the optical adaptor 8. A barrier circuit 64 restricts an energy given to the circuits arranged at a part composing the scope unit 2. When the barrier circuit 64 is provided within the scope connector 5, a part extending ahead of the barrier circuit 64, namely, the control unit 3, insertion portion 4 and optical adaptor 8 become substantially explosion-proof, thereby allowing the endoscope to be used at places with any explosion danger.
