Identifying a compound able to act on the preadipocytes, comprises forming a preadipocyte culture, contacting a first culture sample with a sugar medium to induce differentiation of preadipocytes in adipocytes, contacting a second culture sample with the medium not inducing the differentiation of preadipocytes in adipocytes, contacting a third culture sample and a compound to be tested with a sugar medium and measuring the quantity of lipids produced and/or the differentiation of preadipocytes in each sample. Identifying a compound able to act on the preadipocytes, comprises forming a preadipocyte culture of at least up to 80% confluence, where the formation is called proliferation phase, contacting a first culture sample with sugar medium able to induce differentiation of preadipocytes in adipocytes, contacting a second culture sample with the medium not inducing the differentiation of preadipocytes in adipocytes, contacting a third sample of the culture and a compound to be tested with a sugar medium and measuring the quantity of lipids produced and/or the differentiation of preadipocytes in each sample to identify the action of compound to be tested on the lipogenesis and/or the differentiation of the preadipocytes.
