<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driver comprising an electromechanical transducer in which drive performance is enhanced through a simple arrangement. <P>SOLUTION: The driver comprises a pair of clamp members 3 which approach each other or recede from each other as an electromechanical transducer 2 elongates or contracts, and a moving member 4 is arranged between the pair of clamp members 3. Oscillatory flagella member 5 is arranged between the pair of clamp members 3 and the moving member 4, and a plurality of flagella members 5 are juxtaposed to incline against the approaching/receding direction G of the pair of clamp members 3. As the electromechanical transducer 2 elongates or contracts, the pair of clamp members 3 clamp the moving member 4 to press the flagella member 5 which thereby oscillates to push out the moving member 4 in the driving direction. Since the moving member 4 can be moved surely as the electromechanical transducer 2 elongates or contracts, driving performance can be enhanced.
