An apparatus and a method for detecting an error of a master cylinder pressure sensor of a vehicle are provided to secure the safety by examining the normal operation of the master cylinder pressure sensor. An apparatus for detecting an error of a master cylinder pressure sensor of a vehicle includes a master cylinder pressure sensor(110) and a control section(102). The master cylinder pressure sensor detects the pressure of a master cylinder and generates an output signal of a power-on start-up output waveform having the preset electrical characteristics if a power is supplied. The control section confirms the output signal of the master cylinder pressure sensor at predetermined time intervals and determines that the master cylinder pressure sensor is out of order if the electrical characteristics of the predicted output signal and the actual electrical characteristics of the output signal are not identical. |
