PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift lever capable of inserting an energization member from a lower side of the shift lever and supporting the inserted energization member from the lower side of the shift lever. SOLUTION: This shift lever 10 comprises a detent rod 14 having an operation knob 12 on its top end, and a rod holding part 24 holding the detent rod 14. The rod holding part 24 comprises a cylindrical part 22 for inserting the detent rod 14, a compression spring housing part 26 installed lower than the cylindrical part 22, a compression spring 30 housed in the compression spring housing part 26 and energizing the detent rod 14 toward the operation knob 12, and a stopper 40 supporting the compression spring 30 in contact with the lower end of the compression spring 30. An opening capable of inserting the compression spring 30 from the lower end of the rod holding part 24 is formed on the lower end of the compression spring housing part 26.
