<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain question answering system configuration by which an appropriate answer is provided to an ambiguous question inquiring about degrees, tendencies and evaluation, etc. as the answers. <P>SOLUTION: For example, a question keyword is extracted to perform passage retrieval processing from an ambiguous question inquiring about the degrees, the tendencies and the evaluation, etc. as the answer and a list obtained by extracting a predicate corresponding to the question keyword is generated from the acquired passage as the answer to be presented to a user.
