<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle periphery display unit capable of automatically displaying the image of a vehicle periphery matching the intention of a driver. <P>SOLUTION: By imaging the face of a driver 7 by an infrared camera 2, the direction the driver 7 is looked at is discriminated.
