PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalytic particle which is applied as a promoter of a catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas of a car and the OSC (oxygen storage capacity) of which is improved much more. SOLUTION: The catalytic particle 10 having a function of absorbing and releasing oxygen contains a Fe compound being a solid solution formed from ferric oxide and one or more bivalent elements except for Fe, which are selected from alkaline metals such as Ca, Mg, Sr and Ba and transition metals such as Co, Ni and Cu and incorporated in the solid solution by around 1-10 atom%.
