Textile material which is protected from microbial infection (I), contains metallic silver particles with a particle diameter of less than 70 nm in amounts of 20-800 mg/kg. Independent claims are included for (1) antimicrobial textile sheet, at least 10 wt% of which consists of (I) (2) antimicrobial textile products, at least 10 wt% of which consists of (I) .
