PURPOSE:To perform spherical machining of an inclination-freed high-precise refractive index distribution type lens, by providing a correction amount computing device which feeds a computing result from a computing device, computing the direction of the inclination angle of the end surface of a work, as a moving amount of a drive device to a control device. CONSTITUTION:A work 1 is chucked on a spindle, having a z-axis serving as a rotary axis, on an x-axis and an y-axis through a inclination correcting device movable in the direction of a z-axis. Through rotation of the spindle, displacement of a side 1a of a work 1 is measured in linkage with the rotary angle of the spindle by means of an inclination angle measuring device 13 located at a distance (r) from the z-axis. From the measuring result, a surface A extending vertically to the z-axis and inclination alpha and an inclination direction betaare computed by a computing device 16. The computing result is fed as moving amounts of drive devices 11 and 12 on the respective axes of a chuck inclination correcting device to a control device 17 by means of a correction amount computing device. As a result, the side 1a of the work 1 is positioned vertically to the z-axis by means of the inclination correcting device, and inclination-freed high-precise spherical machining can be applied on the work 1. |
