PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability in cable lead-out operation or intermediate post-branching by making a sheath easily peelable and removable without damaging the cable core of an optical fiber cable. SOLUTION: The optical fiber cable 1 is provided with a cable core 3 in which an optical fiber is stored and a cable sheath 5 with which the cable core 3 is coated on the outer periphery. The optical fiber cable is characterized in that a rip cord 7 is imbedded in the cable sheath 5, wherein the rip cord 7 is composed of a first warp 9 which is extended in the same longitudinal direction as the cable sheath 5 and which is situated in the inner surface side of the cable sheath 5, a second warp 11 which is situated in the outer surface side of the cable sheath 5 corresponding to the first warp 9, and a weft 13 which connects these first warp 9 and the second warp 11.
