FIELD: amateur and sports fishing. SUBSTANCE: inertia spinning reel is part of spinning rod. Toothed rim in form of ratchet wheel is made on peripheral part of drum. Reel has rectangular frame spring-loaded in radial direction relative to drum. One side of frame engages with toothed rim, and opposite side, with spinning rod fishing line. At casting the lure. line tension brings frame out of engagement with drum, and the latter can rotate. When lure hits water, tension of line disappears, and frame comes into meshing with drum rim. As a result, drum stops, preventing winding of line onto drum and forming a "beard". EFFECT: prevention of line tangling on drum. 3 dwg
