PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device for an image forming apparatus capable of efficiently increasing the temperature of a nip part by a heating means, thereby performing a fixing process in a short time. SOLUTION: The fixing device 5 for the image forming apparatus includes: a heated-side endless body 7 rotated while heated by the heating means 16; and a pressure-side endless belt 8 stretched by a plurality of rollers 10, 11 and 12 and rotated while forming the nip part 9 between the heated-side endless body 7 and itself. In the fixing device 5, the heating means 16 is disposed on the back of the heated-side endless body in the nip part 9. The intermediate parts of the pressure-side endless belt 8, between two of the rollers 10, 11, and 12, form the nip part 9 such that each intermediate part is located opposite to the heating means 16.
