<p>It is possible to provide a data file recording system and a data file recording method which converts a data format of a data file recorded in an external recording device and can be easily used by those who have no detailed knowledge about a computer. A first data file (4) read by a computer (C) is converted into a second data file of a predetermined data format. A recording mode of an external recording device (2) is modified into a first recording mode capable of performing recording. When recording of the second data file into the external recording device (2) is complete, the recording mode of the external recording device (2) is modified to a second recording mode incapable of performing recording.</p>
