<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely manage use of seal data printed on a document, etc. as a seal to prevent unauthorized use. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus is constituted so that the seal data are stored, different pieces of approval data are generated and transmitted for every approval to a use permission request of the seal data, when image data are received together with identification information matched to the approval data, synthetic printing of the image data and the seal data is performed, and after the printing, pieces of the approval data are erased. Otherwise, the image forming apparatus is constituted so that the pieces of approval data are canceled when a specific pattern is used for the predetermined use frequency, or when predetermined time is elapsed. Otherwise, the image forming apparatus is constituted so that a re-issuance of use permission information of the specific pattern is requested and the pieces of approval data are generated again to the re-issuance when paper jam is generated in synthetic printing.
