摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display element with high display quality and high reliability by preventing decomposition or deterioration of a liquid crystal composition and an alignment layer in a process of: forming an ultraviolet curing sealing material on a first electrode substrate; dropping a liquid crystal on a substrate surface surrounded by the sealing material; sticking the first and second electrode substrates in vacuum; and curing the sealing material by irradiating it with ultraviolet rays. SOLUTION: In the step to cure the sealing material by irradiating it with the ultraviolet rays, when birefringence of the liquid crystal composition is denoted asΔn, curing is achieved by irradiating the sealing material with the ultraviolet rays from which light rays in≤330 nm wavelength region have been excluded whenΔn is less than 0.08, and with those from which light rays in≤(630×Δn+280) nm wavelength region have been excluded whenΔn is 0.08 or more.
