PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety system of a battery pack in which safety can be secured surely at an early stage before reaching thermal runaway even at a time of a function failure of an electric protective circuit. SOLUTION: In the present safety system, the safety is secured by protection coping with an abnormal phenomenon occurring in the secondary battery 5 by using the electric protective means 1 and the structural protective means 4 simultaneously. In other words, it has an advantage in that deformation protection of the secondary battery 5 or protection of leakage from the battery pack to outside can be achieved with regard to an inside gas or electrolytic solution leaking from the secondary battery 5, since the structural protection comes into function even if a conventional electrical protection does not function.
